(Lk. 5:7)
INTRO.
- The great catch of fish.
- When in the deep the other ship is important!
- NEVER HESITATE TO SIGNAL “THE OTHER SHIP” FOR HELP
- James 5:14-16.
- Prov. 12:15--The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
- Pride won’t send a signal—But will fail—Prov. 16:18.
- If can’t depend on brethren, who can you depend on?
- DON’T FAIL TO COME TO HELP IF YOU ARE “THE OTHER SHIP.”
- Be alert to the needs of others—Nearby ship when Titanic signaled but not respond.
- “The other ship” might refuse to help.
- “Not my problem.”
- “They shouldn’t have gotten into that mess.”
- “I’ll pray for God to bless them.”—James 2:14-16; James 1:27.
- “The other ship” ought not to refuse any opportunity—Gal. 6:10.
- “THE OTHER SHIP” OFTEN MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.
- The Carpathia made the difference for 700 people.
- Didn’t save all but saved some—1 Cor. 9:22b.

- “The other ship” can be the hope for salvation.
- Gal. 6:1, 2—Restore—Bear another’s burden.
- Rom. 15:1, 2.
- “The other ship” provides means of spreading out the load.
- Both ships full—v. 7.
- Ex. 18:14-24—Moses needed help.
- Acts 14:23—“Elders” (plural) spread the burden.
- Reason to work together as a group, pulling together—Many ideas come together for one purpose.
- YOU MAY NOT BE IN THE SHIP WHERE FISHING BEGAN BUT MIGHT BE “THE OTHER SHIP” THAT CAN HELP.
CONC.
- Great lessons—None argued about who had best ship, most capable crew, best nets, etc!—They just worked together.
